Assuming responsibility for a loved one entails making multiple and often very difficult decisions. I can attest that after interviewing 6 caregiving organizations, I thankfully and wisely choose KinderNest Care. For 3 months my 94-year-old mother required 24 X 7 care. While the environment was sometimes heartbreaking and often stressful, my 3-women team provided the absolute best care imaginable. This was done with patience, kindness, respect, empathy, joy (often laughter), intelligence and professionalism. While each member of our squad had their own unique style, all of these “angels” (as I quickly learned to refer to them) followed a consistent level of care and worked seamlessly as a well-honed team. There was a constant and loving “can-do” attitude and never a hesitation on what needed to be accomplished. This included not only daily personal care of my mother but also, light housecleaning, laundry, dog walking, reading aloud, errands, interaction with other professionals (doctors, therapists, nurses) and visiting friends, and preparation of some of the best meals I have ever consumed. While the last 3 months of Mom’s life were often sad and challenging, Nahomie, Kerline and Fabiola supported my family and became adopted members. I will be forever grateful to each of them.
